Please recommend herbal insomnia remedies. Mother is getting very ill from side effects of melatonin?
It's been a year she took various types of chemical based insomnia pills, since her brain aneurysm surgery... She takes high blood pressure medications, and she has to watch out for this particular thing. She's suffering from numb tongue and soar hands arms due to the side effects of melatonin high blood pressure. She's also got mental trauma in many different ways, and she feels anxiety fear at night about her health and family most of them don't give a damn about her well being. I'm just hoping someone can PLEASE help her rid of this insomnia. Please recommend some herbal remedies... Thank you.

Natural insomnia remedies?
I've been plagued with chronic insomnia for the last month or so. No matter how exhausted I am, it takes me a very long time to fall asleep, then my natural sleep rhythm is constantly disrupted due to constantly waking up, sometimes several times an hour. Any natural remedies for an uninterrupted sleep cycle? I've tried melatonin, but that only worked for a week. My mattress is comfortable enough, but I should probably buy new pillows, as the current ones are getting old. I am VERY reluctant to resort to prescription medication, but I'm in a desperate situation here. The sleep deprivation is really affecting my work and my ability to function. I'm always feeling exhausted, scatterbrained, and depressed. This is no way to live...please help I honestly don't think it's sleep apnea, because I don't wake up gasping for air, but I DO wake up with racing thoughts, so I believe the insomnia is psychogenic. Probably need to reduce the stress in my life, but I don't know where to begin Choco, Fallen & Glitterkitty The Nolte thanks you.Reefer's not an option for a corporate whore who's subject to random drug testing. Somehow, I don't think my insomnia excuse would help me avoid termination.Great stuff there, Peachers hugs Smoked, might be worth a try Do you know which brands work best? Major I haven't tried the light therapy yet...I know this is something we discussed earlier I need to seriously look into that this weekend.

What are some good natural insomnia remedies?
I thought that taking melatonin pills was such a great idea UNTIL...I read this...." Some studies show that melatonin supplements worsened symptoms of depression. For this reason, people with depression should consult their doctor before using melatonin supplements." I'm already negative about life here, I don't need the pills to help deepen the already depressed feelings. I always feeling moody, irritated and angry, and lots of times because I am confused and thinking worse things about life, and about me getting old I'm 19 . I thought if I go to sleep, my negative feelings will go away. Please help me I refuse to go to a doctor.Or at least remedies to induce sleep. No sleeping pills, I can't afford to get addicted. My insomnia is basically long term.

Natural Sleep-Aids / Insomnia Remedies?
Okay so... I've had insomnia for years. It's on and off, isn't ALL the time thank god. But I'll go through weeks or months without sleeping more than a couple hours a night if I'm lucky , balanced out with maybe a week in between where I manage to get decent amounts of sleep. I've tried a ton of sleep aid pills already, as recommended by my doctor. Valerian. Melatonin. Nytol. Herbal Nytol. Kalms. None of them worked.Eventually my doctor prescribed me a stronger sleeping pill called Zopiclone. But, no dice. It didn't stop me from taking forever to get to sleep, it just made me feel more tired and get more frustrated that I still couldn't sleep. And it didn't stop me from waking up eight thousand times during the night, and then being unable to get BACK to sleep again. And on top of that it made me feel like I was hungover in the morning, all groggy and nauseous and dizzy feeling. I tried it for a while but stopped taking it about a year ago because it just wasn't working. My doctor said there was no point in prescribing different sleeping pills, as it didn't seem they were helping any way and it would be stupid just to put a ton of chemicals in my body without even getting a result. This was about a year ago, but my problems are persisting. I've taken to sleeping with earplugs because I am a light sleeper, and this helps me marginally in that, I don't wake up at every little sound. I just wake up when my body decides to instead. But does anybody have some natural remedies that might work? Like, are chamomile tea and lavender baths before bed really supposed to work? I'm really jaded and sceptical now, but it's been like three weeks since I got over 4 hours of sleep in one night, so I need your advice. Thanks in advance you guys.

Insomnia remedies?
I'm a mom of a almost one year old child, who for the first nine months of his life breast fed every 2 5 hours. on demand While I had no problem with this at the time, and pretty much slept when he did, now that he's been sleeping through the night, I still don't, and I find myself waking up several times throughout the night, and for some reason, since I'm not waking up specifically to nurse him, I can't fall back asleep very easily. What can I do to train my body to sleep for long stretches at a time again?
