Is it possible to have insomnia caused by stress? please i need to know..?
Ok well I have no diseases that i know of, and the only time i have ever been to the hospital was when I got a third of my kidney taken out as a baby.. It takes me a while to go to sleep, and I wake up at least more than 3 times a night. Its been like that for as long as I remember. I dont think it's anything serious, but my mom is beginning to get worried. Is it possible to have a minor case of insomnia due to stress?Or is this normal?

My dad was just sentenced to four years in prison for his third dwi two days ago, so my mom moved her boyfriend into my dads house to save money. She kicked me out of my room so they could sleep in there and put me in my dad's room. My dads bed is broken and uncomfortable and his room just reminds me of the times we spent in there watching TV together. They made me baby sit my two month old baby brother yesterday for six hours which I don't mind but baby's his age need a lot of attention and I hadn't slept the night before and they knew that. The last time I slept was Saturday afternoon for five hours and its now after 4 30 Monday morning. I'm the one in my family that's always " taking one for the team" because I'm very soft spoken and I don't bitch about things but its starting to get ridiculous. My dad also doesn't know that my moms boyfriend is living in HIS house and I feel guilty about it because my dad and I are very close and I know he'd shit bricks if he knew. My mom always has me lie to my dad about things.What should I do? I'm seventeen if it helps.

Last Sunday I went to the emergency room because I began to sob uncontrollably at work. The attending physician believed I was depressed and has a crisis worker speak with me the crisis worker booked me an emergency appointment with a psychiatrist and had the attending physician prescribe Zopiclone in the meantime so I would be able to get a good night's sleep. I saw the psychiatrist on Thursday and he prescribed Zoloft. The pharmacist instructed me to take it with my supper. I took it for the first time Thursday night and I felt great all day Friday. I felt calmer and happier and I even laughed while watching a sitcom for the first time in a long time I used to think the jokes were funny before but I didn't laugh . But I used my last Zopiclone Friday night and couldn't sleep at all Saturday night. I went to bed a little later than usual and I just laid in bed until 5 or 6 o'clock in the morning and slept maybe 2 or 3 hours and was up by 8. I stayed in bed until about 11 AM this morning when I had to get up for work. I double checked the list of side affects the pharmacist gave me and insomnia was one of them. I feel okay today even though I didn't get much sleep last night but I could see this becoming a problem if it continues for a long time. So does insomnia caused by Zoloft go away?
How do you get over insomnia caused by anger?
I'm angry at a family member I'm living with. It's not like I'm in a rage all the time. But the cause of my anger is ongoing. I tend towards insomnia anyway. There are things I can do about it, such as make myself tired. But that doesn't work when anger is the cause of my insomnia. Even when I'm tired I still can't relax and enjy sleep.Scott, even God asks for genuine repentance before forgiving, doesn't He? Maybe that's the problem. Maybe I need to confront the person and give them a chance to change.

Insomnia caused by bad dreams?
Okay. Lately, I mean like the past two almost three months I've been having the most disturbing dreams. It's causing me to lie awake all night and sleep only when I'm beyond exhausted. I've tried to explain this to my parents since I'm still a minor and have no way of getting to a doctor myself, but they just blow it off telling me " You watch too many violent things and keep yourself awake." If I could sleep I WOULD, trust me. It scares me to even try to sleep at night sometimes. I hate staying awake all night, I feel like I'm wasting my time.What should I do?Honestly, I think something's wrong with me.Well, the thing is, I don't watch many violent things. Maybe the occasional scary movie here or there, which don't scare me.Thing is, I'm not scared by psychical things. I was never scared of the dark, being alone, ect even as a little kid.It's the dreams and the disturbing content in them. Like watching my family and friends die in really screwed up and vivid ways.
